What happens to Opsgenie, and what do I use instead?
On March 3, 2025, Atlassian announced it is retiring Opsgenie. Since June 4, 2025, it can no longer be purchased, on April 5, 2027 it will be shut down, and data that has not been migrated will be deleted. Atlassian offers migration to Jira Service Management or Compass. If you mainly need alerts to reach your phone reliably, PagerDeck covers it: HTTP API, email inbox, receiver side rules, hosting in Nuremberg.

Frequently asked questions
- By when do I have to switch?
- By April 5, 2027 at the latest, when Atlassian shuts Opsgenie down. Plan the switch earlier so you can test the new rules in parallel for a few weeks.
- Can I run Opsgenie and PagerDeck in parallel?
- Yes. Most monitoring systems allow several recipients. The same event then goes to both until you trust the rules in PagerDeck.
- Is there an import from Opsgenie?
- No. PagerDeck does not import teams or schedules from Opsgenie. You create sources and switch the sending systems to webhook or email.
- Can I use PagerDeck in a GDPR compliant way?
- Servers and database run at Hetzner in Nuremberg, and you sign the data processing agreement (DPA) in the dashboard. The privacy policy lists which service providers are involved, such as Apple for push.
