What is PagerDeck?
PagerDeck is a push alerting service by Gonzi Tech UG from Germany. Systems send alerts via HTTP API or email, and a rule chain on the receiving end decides whether and how loud they arrive on iPhone, iPad or a Windows PC. Servers and database run at Hetzner in Nuremberg. You can try PagerDeck for 14 days without a payment method.
What PagerDeck does differently
The receiver decides
The sender suggests an urgency. Your rule chain turns it into one of five levels, from silent to critical, by source, tags, text pattern, time of day and weekday.
Quiet hours across midnight
Time windows with a fixed time zone. What is not important at night waits until morning, and what is important still gets through.
Repeat and escalate
An alert keeps coming back until someone acknowledges it, and after a deadline it also goes to another device or an email address.
Critical alerts on iPhone
The critical level breaks through Focus and the silent switch if you allow critical alerts for the app. Without permission, it visibly falls back to high.
One incident instead of a hundred pushes
The same dedup_key updates an open incident without ringing again. The all-clear comes from the monitoring system and costs no allowance.
HTTP and email
POST /v1/push with JSON, a Pushover compatible route for switching over, and from Business, a dedicated email inbox per source.
Hosted in Nuremberg
Our own servers and database at Hetzner in Nuremberg; the privacy policy names the other service providers. Data processing agreement (DPA) in the dashboard. No ad networks, no selling of data. Reach measurement only with consent, on a Vemetric instance we run ourselves in Nuremberg, and its data is deleted after 24 months.
Transparent billing
Monthly or yearly, plus a limited lifetime plan, each with a fixed allowance. Once it is used up, nothing more is delivered and you get an email, so the bill never grows on its own. Paid additional volume beyond the allowance is opt-in, with a monthly limit you set yourself.
When PagerDeck is not a fit
- You need push on Android. There are apps for iPhone, iPad and Windows, the Mac app is coming soon, and on Android you use the history in the browser.
- You need incident management for a large organization with schedules, phone calls, SMS and status pages. PagerDuty or Jira Service Management are built for that.
- You want to self-host the service. PagerDeck only runs hosted.
- Your alerts are safety critical, for example fire or burglary. Then you need a certified, independent channel as well.
Frequently asked questions
- Who is behind PagerDeck?
- Gonzi Tech UG (haftungsbeschränkt) from Germany. The provider details are in the legal notice.
- What happens after the 14 days?
- Without a subscription, PagerDeck stops accepting alerts. Your account, history, sources and paired devices are kept, and once you subscribe everything continues without any new setup.
- What happens when the allowance is used up?
- From 100 percent, PagerDeck keeps accepting and storing everything, but delivers no alert of any level. The history marks them as not delivered, and the owner gets an email. If you switched on paid additional volume, alerts within the chosen scope keep being delivered up to your monthly limit. From 300 percent, the API rejects requests until the next period starts. All-clears never count.
- Do I need a data processing agreement (DPA)?
- If you use PagerDeck for work, usually yes. You sign it as the owner in the dashboard, and it is required before you can invite people to your team.

- Push notifications via webhook and curl
One HTTP request with JSON. No SDK, no library, and the all-clear does not cost you an alert.
- Email to push for devices that only send email
NAS, UPS, backup software: every source gets its own address. The email becomes an alert that runs through your rules.
- PagerDeck or Pushover
Both put a push notification on your phone. The difference is who decides how loud it is.
- PagerDeck as a PagerDuty alternative
PagerDuty is incident management for organizations. PagerDeck is push alerting with rules for individuals and small teams.
- On-call for small teams
The Team plan shares sources and history with five people included, and more seats can be added. Each person decides what wakes them.
- Pricing
Pro, Business or Team. Choose the plan for your alerts and pick a subscription or the limited lifetime deal.
Try it with your own alerts
Sign up, connect a source, write a rule. 14 days, no payment method needed.
